The Archdiocese of Indianapolis, located in downtown Indianapolis, is hiring an onsite full time (Monday-Thursday) Director of Youth Ministry. The Director of Youth Ministry serves as the leader of and support to Youth Ministries and Ministers throughout the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. The ideal candidate is passionate about youth, creating a vision for youth ministry that considers the cultural, developmental, and spiritual diversity of Catholic Adolescents and their families. The Director of Youth Ministry provides support to parishes and communities to empower youth to live as disciples of Jesus Christ and engagement in the life of the Catholic faith community
Responsibilities:
Models Christian discipleship and ensures that initiatives and programs are developed within a context that promotes growth in faith and maturing spiritually.
Leads adults and youth, providing them with inspiration, direction, resources, personal witness, and vision
Is passionate about the needs for youth, serving as a advocate for youth and youth ministry
Responsible for direct oversight of Office of Youth Ministry Staff
Creates and maintains annual budget
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Professed and practicing Catholic familiar with Catholic Church teachings as they apply to youth
Committed to supporting leadership of colleagues
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Education, Training & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Theology or a related field, Master’s degree preferred.
At least 3 years of management experience
At least 3 years parish youth ministry experience, understanding the development needs of youth
